I am a highly conscientious and professional Physiotherapist with clinical experience of 2 years at a multi-disciplinary healthcare setting. I have acquired in-depth evidence-based knowledge and skills for the comprehensive evaluation, assessment, and formulation of patient-centered and goal-oriented treatment plans involving various manual and therapeutic techniques. I have worked as an autonomous practitioner and am legally accountable for the caseload of patients with multiple disorders including orthopedic, musculoskeletal, cardio-respiratory, pediatric, sports, and women's health-related conditions. I hold expertise in handling electro-therapeutical modalities and their proper use according to patient's needs and best possible interests. I am devoted to communicating effectively with my patients using verbal and nonverbal communication skills and gaining valid consent from the patient before implementing any treatment protocol. Job responsibilities:
- Performing a comprehensive examination, evaluation, assessment, and diagnosis by history taking, using various tools, special tests, and investigations.
- Formulating an evidence-based treatment plan according to the need of the individual patients.
- The patients I come across on daily basis belong to various disorders and conditions mainly including Pre and Post-operative Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal conditions, Spinal disorders, Neurological disorders, Pediatric/Geriatric disorders, Women's health-related conditions, Cardio-respiratory fitness, Sports injury rehabilitation, and prevention.
- Formulating extensive patient-related reports for other disciplines for assessment findings and treatment outcomes.
- Formulating a goal-oriented and patient-centered home exercise plan (HEP) for the early recovery of patients to functional activities.
- Considering Safety as the major component of treatment, I was always very careful before using any equipment or technique and used to make sure that it is safe for the patient in all aspects.
- Using suitable verbal and non-verbal communication skills with patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating, for example, hearing loss, altered perception, expressive and receptive dysphasia, pain, fear, or the inability to accept the diagnosis.
- Maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities, which reflects personal development.
- Considering the basic ethics of the patient I always explained and educated the patient about her assessment techniques before applying them, clearly explained the diagnosis, treatment plans, and short and long-term goals, and also informed them about complications (if present) and how to avoid them.
Right after my degree, I got selected for the House job in September 2020 (morning shift) offered by my college(Lahore Medical and Dental College) at the most prestigious organization of Orthopedic and Rehabilitation in Pakistan, Ghurki Trust and Teaching Hospital for the tenure of 6 months. It has multidisciplinary rehabilitation departments i.e. Orthopedics/Musculoskeletal, Pediatrics, Neurology, Cardio-respiratory, Women's health, and ICU management. I got rotated for 2 weeks in each major department under the supervision of our Clinical Instructor.
My aim is to work in a reputable organization to utilize my skills for the growth of the organization as well as to enhance my knowledge about new and emerging trends in the present time. I would bring my determination, motivation, and personality to every element of my duty if accepted.
