In the last of the Physiotherapy degree, I chose to conduct my internship within the manual therapy department, fascinated by the idea of being able to treat and improve patients' lives only by using my hands and my clinical reasoning. I was able to expand this concept when I enrolled in the MSc course of Osteopathy in London, with the intent of mastering manual therapy techniques and integrating them with the osteopathic holistic point of view of the human body and health. Since 2018 I am part of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) after having trained extensively in the use of acupuncture, more specifically the western medicine approach. My focus in the treatment is the identification of the dysfunctional tissues in the body, the conncetions those have with the surrounding anatomy (biomechanical and non compensations) anf the use of techniques designed to improve and restore the function and health of the part (the tissue) and the unit (the body). Particular attention is given to the find and release of the muscular Trigger points and the improvement of mobility of the restricted vertebral joints via manipulations techniques. I then prepare a tailored rehabilitation plan with exercises that are designed to maintain the improvements achieved for a long term impact.
