My Profile Summary
Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I qualified from Birmingham University, Queen Elizabeth School of Physiotherapy in 1991. I went on to complete a basic grade at Warrington DGH covering MSK, orthopaedics, respiratory and neurology. I left to work abroad in Australia working within the Australian Health Service completing MSK clinics, working in fracture clinics removing and applying plasters and domiciliary physiotherapy. I later returned to the UK and worked in south-east England as a locum MSK outpatient physiotherapist. I subsequently moved to the north-west and took a role as an extended scope MSK physiotherapist working independently in GP practices and orthopaedic clinics performing orthopaedic triages and joint injections. I left the NHS in 2000 to set up my own private practice where I have worked since.
Whilst working in private practice I have also worked with multiple professional and national teams including the England Football Association, England Boxing and Liverpool FC. I have supported these teams both in the UK and whilst competing in Europe. I have also worked at multisport events including three Commonwealth Games and one European Games. In 2004 I completed my MSc at Sheffield Hallam University using diagnostic ultrasound and completed a PhD in 2013 analysing professional athletes’ running biomechanics using motion analysis data capture. Hence my previous experience in the NHS, as a locum, work with international athletes, experience traveling with teams for tournaments and research into normal movement at PhD level means that I feel I would be a perfect fit for any role you may have to offer.
Thank you for taking the time to read my details, I hope to hear from you in the near future.
