Kilkenny Physiotherapy & Sports Injury CLinic

Chartered physiotherapist required for a busy private physiotherapy Clinic in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. The business has 2 clinics, 2 pilates studios and a rehab gym. The caseload is very varied. We have a broad MSK client base ranging from all acute to chronic MSK injuries. We see a wide variety of sports injuries and work with Co Kilkenny inter county hurling and football teams as well as many local clubs. We provide in clinic assessment and treatments and provide pitchside cover. There is an extensive paediatric client base from babies with delayed development, tallipes or torticolles to neurologiacal paediatric cases such as CP and also a huge number of paediatric MSK cases such as severs, oosgoolds etc. We specialise in paediatric biomechanic assessments, exercise prescription and orthotic provision if required. We have a broad client base of neurological patients from spinal injuries to strokes and head injuries, as well as seeing patients with MS, parkinsons etc. We also have many geriatric clients and we provide home visits and physiotherapy to residential nursing homes. In addition we see women's health, MLD, respiratory, vestibular, cervico-genic headaches and pretty much anything you can think of. We work with many of the orthopaedic surgeons throughout the South East and Dublin, doing full adult biomechanical assessments and treating varied foot and ankle problems. We prescribe orthotics where deemed appropriate. We provide high quality pilates classes at all levels from remedial rehab classes to intermediate or advanced mat based classes. We also provide a wide range of other classes from children's core and Agility classes to gym or strengthening classes for the elderly. The clinic also covers some nursing homes, and do domicillary visits where required. Skills which would be desirable, but not essential, include deep dry needling, knowledge of biomechanical assessments and orthotic prescription, pilates instructor qualification, paediatric and neurologoical experience, women's health, and Manual lymphatic Drainage training. A good knowledge of exercise prescription, strength and conditioning and gym exercises would be beneficial. Pitch side experience, CPR, taping and first aid training are all also desirable skills to have. Knowledge of the psyhosocial approach to pain management as well as knowledge of electrotherapy including shockwave, and good assessment and manual skills. The successful candidate should have experience in some of the above areas and be willing to commit to a minimum of 2 years, mainly because of the high level of inservice training available. We provide extensive in service training and encourage all staff to continually upskill through in house, online and face to face CPD. Ideally we are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and outgoing staff member who wants to become a highly skilled practitioner.
